This Week on Instagram!

A bad week of blogging, sorry! I've been pre-occupied with my new job. It's going well, I'm hoping to get a good pay next month! Long time to wait though. -.- My uploads don't really reflect a very busy week, which makes sense because I haven't had one, but I hope you a appreciate a little insight into my world, anyway.

Another small selection of photos to sink your teeth into. Not a very eventful week due to working here and there.

If you'd like to follow me on Instragram my username is Taylalatbh or Click Here to add me.

I made some brownies for the PPV last Sunday. A little crispy but they went down a treat.

This happened to me this week! Found this little gem sticking out of my tyre. I had to wait almost two hours for the breakdown guy to come change to my spare!

Walking out to my car for work one morning when I see this on the floor! Someone must have knocked the back of my wingmirror off. What is it with some people?

Showing off my mini Hello Kitty mug. I don't drink hot drinks so this is purely decorative.

Cleaning my eyelashes. Leaving them to soak for a bit and picking all the glue off. Boring stuff!

Showing off my little selection of lashes. There's plenty more.

Had a little bedroom friend! Alfie was very distracted chewing his bone all night.

Stole one of my mums yoghurts in hopes that it would be a nice treat. It wasn't. I don't like bits in my yoghurts!

Painted my nails using MUA Cosmetics Love Hearts range. Cute!

Definitely need new nail polish storage.

I think my pup may have fleas. That or something just thinks I'm really tasty.

Little guy likes chewing his bed. What's up with that?

Well I do hope you've enjoyed seeing what I've been up to this week. I know it hasn't been much but I'm not a very entertaining person, really! I look forward to seeing you again next Sunday, though!

I'm tempted to go make some cakes now. What will you get up to this week?

NOTW! NYC Glitzz!

As I will mention in tomorrows post, I've bought some new NYC polishes! I created a little nail look out of it.

I used NYC Late Night Latte.

With NYC Gramercy Glitz on top.

The pictures don't do it justice, really. But it's quite nice. I don't usually wear any glitter but it's so subtle that it looks quite nice.

Ho hum!

This week on Instagram.

Hello again. Another Sunday is upon us which means it's time for 'This week on Instagram'. I'd like to say it's been quite a 'cosmetic-filled' week. A few make up sessions, false eyelashes and some NOTD. And a few others, too. Spent my day today shopping, due to starting a new job next week. Needed a few work clothes (look forward to that post soon!).

Nice selection of photos this week, posted a little late in the day but that's just because my lovely boyfriend made an excellent cooked dinner today so I've been otherwise distracted!

If you'd like to follow me on Instragram my username is Taylalatbh or Click Here to add me.

First NOTD this week. This one didn't last that long because it chipped off a little in the shower -.- I need a good top coat!

Barney came in covered in mud, he's meant to be white! It was bath time after that.

Quite amazed at how long my hair is! And that's even in a ponytail, too.

Finally making myself choose which one to open first. I've gone for the blue and pink one 'Quenched'. Looking forward to using it!

Second NOTD this week because the other one didn't last two long. Loving Rimmel's 60 second polish!

Went to see Batman on Wednesday. They always say you need to send 'film' to '241'. I didn't. Still worked!

I was inspired to fiddle with some make up this week. Now I just need to perfect macro photo taking!

This picture was to show my cousin my lashes, she's been persuaded to purchase some herself!

Highlighting my hair. Sexy look!

Found myself a Hello Kitty pen/keyring for cheaps this week. Very kawaii.

Bought some new eyelashes. More toned down and natural. I've yet to try them!

Horrendous rain this week!
Like I said, a very cosmetic week this week! Bought a few other goodies mentioned in this post, too.

Have you been experimenting with make up this week?

Dino Nails

Today I spent the day at my house with my boyfriend. In need of something to do, my lovely boyfriend decided to paint my nails for me. Now I can only assume this is his first time at trying to paint nails. I think he did quite a good job, really!

Some photos:

He chose the colours and the design. I think the green and yellow nails look a bit like a dinosaur, hint the post title!

For a first attempt, looks pretty good!

Have you ever let your other halves paint your nails?

Review: Rimmel Nail Rescue.

Rimmel Nail Rescue.

Est. £4.59

12 ml.

Rimmel Says:

'Rimmel Nail Rescue And Nail Hardener makes nails noticeably harder & stronger after just two weeks usage.'

I've been painting my nails a lot recently and I've noticed that they're chipping a fair bit on the ends, and the layers are flaking off on the ends too. All of my nail supplies have been packed away in storage for the next two weeks and I needed some nail polish remover to take off my chipped polish so I bought a pack of 'Quickies' nail polish remover. (review to come) and had a quick look for some nail strengthener to use for a week or so to try and repair my nails before I get all my polishes back.

I came across Rimmel's Nail Rescue. Since I'm a fan of Rimmel's nail products I thought I'd give this one a try, and hopefully it'll fix up my nails.

The instructions on the back say to paint one coat on on the first day, and a second coat on the second day, and leave it for a week.

After one week, remove all the polish, and repeat the process. One coat on the first day and the second coat the day after.

After applying the second coat on the second day, I can't say that I've noticed too much yet. The nails are still fragile on the ends and flaking slightly. It doesn't help that I uncontrolably like to pick at my nails. But I'm trying my hardest to leave them alone and let them toughen up.

So, after the two weeks of usage, I have to say I'm a little disapointed. I don't think it worked as well as it says it would. My nails are (and did for the two weeks) still chip and peel away so I lost a lot of length over the two weeks.

Positively, though, my nails do feel a bit stronger and now they're all shorter they don't see o be so brittle on the ends. But we shall see after they've grown a bit more.

  • Not too badly priced, and it could work for your nails.
  • Leaves nails stronger.

  • I don't really think it worked for my nails.
  • Lost a lot of nail length due to chipping.

I don't think I'd buy another bottle but I would try this one again if my nails needed some repair treatment and a break from coloured polish.

Review: Quickies Nail Polish Remover.

Quickies Nail Polish Remover.

£1.09

x20 Pads

As you probably know (because I've mentioned it how much?) I'm in the process of moving this week so a lot of my things are in storage. One of those items being all of my nail supplies. I (stupidly) left on some nail polish after I packed everything away and it got to the point where my nails had chipped away and really needed the polished removed!

I'd only just bought a fresh bottle of remover so I didn't feel like buying a new one. While I was in the supermarket I noticed this: Quickies Nail Polish Remover.

The packaging of the product is quite small and handy, good for portability: to keep in your handbag! It's also pink so it probably won't look out of place there either. This one comes with a twisty lid (but I have seen others with a clip lid) so there's no chance of anything leaking.

It comes with 20 pre-soaked pads of nail polish removing goodness.

The first thing I noticed was that it had a lovely smell. It's not too overpowering like a lot of nail polish removers are. The pads were very thin, not like the normal cotton pads you would use (well, what I normally use). I'm not sure whether it makes it better, worse or not really much difference. I suppose since it's already pre-soaked, they don't need to be too thick because they don't need to hold any more liquid, so it works quite well.

When using them, I noticed it took quite a bit of rubbing on the nail to get it all off. There was a base coat, two coats of colour and a top coat. Quite a bit too get through, but it struggled slightly compared to a normal bottle of polish remover and a cotton pad.

  • Handy size, perfect for the handbag!
  • Good for if you're out and not where all your supplies are.
  • Nice smell, not overpowering like other removers.
  • Good price.

  • Leaves your fingers feeling a bit greasy.
  • Needs a lot of rubbing to get all the polish off.

If I was going away on a trip, or away from my nail supplies for a little while I'd definitely take this product with me (providing I actually needed nail polish remover!). It's a lot more compact than a bottle of nail polish remover and a packet of cotton pads.
