Review: MUA Cosmetics Love Hearts Polish

MUA Love Hearts Nail Varnish

£2.00

6.8ml

I’ve been on a bit of a mad MUA hauling session recently. As I usually shop in boots, I never came across MUA Cosmetics because they’re only available in Superdrug. I heard about them from a few reviews that I came across on some beauty blogs and I just had to try them out. With their low prices and great quality, I just couldn’t help but buy everything!

I went down there today to get some eyelash glue, they didn’t have what I wanted (-.-) so I just ended up spending a few quid on MUA Cosmetics instead! Which isn’t a bad thing. They have a small ‘Love Hearts’ range which are a few nail polishes and some lip balm tubs. The nail polishes come in six colours and are all pastel shades. I chose the Yellow and one of the Purples.

With one coat.

With two coats.

The packaging is so cute! They’re small bottles and with a capacity of only 6.8ml they’re one of the smallest polishes I own. That doesn’t bother me too much, though, because who really gets to the end of a nail polish before it goes funny? They have the Love Hearts logo across the bottle and a Love Hearts sticker on the top. Along with the pastel colours, they look quite nice!

The product itself, to me, just seems like any other nail polish, which is good! It goes on smoothly and the colour is great, very vibrant. Two coats seem to do the trick for an even coverage with full colour definition.  It dries relatively fast, too. No problems!

The only thing I’m having a slight issue with is the brush. It doesn’t appear to be shaped too well so it makes applying the polish a little difficult. Sometimes leaves streaks on the nails, but a second coat usually clears it up. I could have just bought a bad bottle, as only the yellow one has a frayed brush, though.

It may have just been a bad batch but this brush is a little frayed!
This brush isn't too bad, I haven't tried it properly yet, though.

  • Adorable packaging.
  • Great colour choices, I love pastel shades!
  • Product is great, very smooth and dries quite quickly!

  • My only issue is with the shape of the brush. It’s a shame, I hope they get this feedback and update their polishes!

Absolutely! There are 6 colours in the range and I plan on buying them all! Only 4 left to collect. :)

This Week on Instagram!

A bad week of blogging, sorry! I've been pre-occupied with my new job. It's going well, I'm hoping to get a good pay next month! Long time to wait though. -.- My uploads don't really reflect a very busy week, which makes sense because I haven't had one, but I hope you a appreciate a little insight into my world, anyway.

Another small selection of photos to sink your teeth into. Not a very eventful week due to working here and there.

If you'd like to follow me on Instragram my username is Taylalatbh or Click Here to add me.

I made some brownies for the PPV last Sunday. A little crispy but they went down a treat.

This happened to me this week! Found this little gem sticking out of my tyre. I had to wait almost two hours for the breakdown guy to come change to my spare!

Walking out to my car for work one morning when I see this on the floor! Someone must have knocked the back of my wingmirror off. What is it with some people?

Showing off my mini Hello Kitty mug. I don't drink hot drinks so this is purely decorative.

Cleaning my eyelashes. Leaving them to soak for a bit and picking all the glue off. Boring stuff!

Showing off my little selection of lashes. There's plenty more.

Had a little bedroom friend! Alfie was very distracted chewing his bone all night.

Stole one of my mums yoghurts in hopes that it would be a nice treat. It wasn't. I don't like bits in my yoghurts!

Painted my nails using MUA Cosmetics Love Hearts range. Cute!

Definitely need new nail polish storage.

I think my pup may have fleas. That or something just thinks I'm really tasty.

Little guy likes chewing his bed. What's up with that?

Well I do hope you've enjoyed seeing what I've been up to this week. I know it hasn't been much but I'm not a very entertaining person, really! I look forward to seeing you again next Sunday, though!

I'm tempted to go make some cakes now. What will you get up to this week?

Impromptu Shopping Haul!

I went into Superdrug a few days ago before work (yeah, new job!) and managed to spend around £15 on NYC and MUA cosmetics in about 5 minutes before my shift started.

I picked up five nail polishes, 2 blushers and a lipstick/gloss. And yes, I got all this for £14.96! I'll end up doing a few in depth reviews on a few of these items in the upcoming weeks, so look out for that.

I've heard a lot of good things about the MUA Mosaic Blusher. It was only £2.50 so that's pretty good, I'm really excited to road test it tomorrow. I bought it in 'English Rose - Shade 3', though they do have another two lovely shades in the nice mosaic pattern.

The other MUA Blusher was only a pound so I thought I'd pick one of those up too. I got this one in 'shade 2'. It's a kind of pinky shade. I looks like it matches up to one of the sections in the mosaic one.

The other MUA product was the Lip Boom. I don't quite know why this one attracted me so much. It might just be because it has 'boom' in the title. It's a full lip stick with a reasonably size gloss on the other end of the tube. They can be worn separately or together. After trying the lippy though, I think the shade is a little dark for me. So I'm very tempted to go and get another one. This was £3.

I bought two NYC 'In a New York Minute' nail polishes. 'Manhattan' and 'Prince Street'. A kind of deep red/purple and a metallic purple, respectively. These were £1.79 each or two for around £2.50. *Multibuy* :D

Lastly, I bought three NYC 'Expert Last' polishes at £1.99 each. 'Late Night Latte', 'Lights-Camera-Glitter' and 'Gramercy Glitz'. A nude shade, a nude coloured glitter and a silvery, blue glitter, respectively.

All in all, really happy with my haul. Might go back in when I have a bit more time and spend some more money, why not!

Again, keep your eyes open for a review or two, and a close up of a few of these items.

Have you tried any of these before? What did you think?

NOTW! NYC Glitzz!

As I will mention in tomorrows post, I've bought some new NYC polishes! I created a little nail look out of it.

I used NYC Late Night Latte.

With NYC Gramercy Glitz on top.

The pictures don't do it justice, really. But it's quite nice. I don't usually wear any glitter but it's so subtle that it looks quite nice.

Ho hum!

This week on Instagram.

Hello again. Another Sunday is upon us which means it's time for 'This week on Instagram'. I'd like to say it's been quite a 'cosmetic-filled' week. A few make up sessions, false eyelashes and some NOTD. And a few others, too. Spent my day today shopping, due to starting a new job next week. Needed a few work clothes (look forward to that post soon!).

Nice selection of photos this week, posted a little late in the day but that's just because my lovely boyfriend made an excellent cooked dinner today so I've been otherwise distracted!

If you'd like to follow me on Instragram my username is Taylalatbh or Click Here to add me.

First NOTD this week. This one didn't last that long because it chipped off a little in the shower -.- I need a good top coat!

Barney came in covered in mud, he's meant to be white! It was bath time after that.

Quite amazed at how long my hair is! And that's even in a ponytail, too.

Finally making myself choose which one to open first. I've gone for the blue and pink one 'Quenched'. Looking forward to using it!

Second NOTD this week because the other one didn't last two long. Loving Rimmel's 60 second polish!

Went to see Batman on Wednesday. They always say you need to send 'film' to '241'. I didn't. Still worked!

I was inspired to fiddle with some make up this week. Now I just need to perfect macro photo taking!

This picture was to show my cousin my lashes, she's been persuaded to purchase some herself!

Highlighting my hair. Sexy look!

Found myself a Hello Kitty pen/keyring for cheaps this week. Very kawaii.

Bought some new eyelashes. More toned down and natural. I've yet to try them!

Horrendous rain this week!
Like I said, a very cosmetic week this week! Bought a few other goodies mentioned in this post, too.

Don't forget to add me on Instagram and Twitter for more updates.

Have you been experimenting with make up this week?

New Cosmetics Buys!

I've just spent the morning in town running a few errands and thought what better time to spoil myself! I bought a little handful of goodies from Boots and Superdrug.

First, from Boots I bought some new Foundation. I don't know why I chose this one specifically but I guess it just stood out! This is Maybelline's 24 Hour Super Stay Foundation. In 005 Light Beige.

You can probably guess from it's name that it is claimed to stay on for 24 hours! It also says 'non-transfer' on it so it'll be interesting to see how this one plays out. Looking forward to using it!

I paid £9.19.

Then I went on to Superdrug for the rest.

Next up is NYC 'In a New York Colour Minute' Quick Dry Nail Polish in 'Bowery Black'. I've not tried this brand before but I thought I would give it a try. You can't quite tell the colour of this polish from the picture but it's a dark shimmery grey. Keep your eyes peeled for a colour swatch in an upcoming post.

I paid £1.79.

Another brand I haven't really tried before is MUA. I saw their eyeshadow palettes and thought there were a good selection of colours for the price, so I bought two ^_^

This one is called: 'Glamour Days'. It's a very nude palette with a hint of colour and shimmer in a few of the shades.
This one is: 'Poptastic'. I wanted this one because the colours are so bright! There's a few shimmery shades in there too, as well as some matte ones.

These were £4.00 each, bargain.

I can't wait to try this out, will probably do some swatches in an upcoming post when I open up these babies!

A little update on me!

I've got a part time job starting next week in a clothing store so keep your eyes open for some nice work outfit posts, I'm sure. Wish me luck!
